I hosted a Game Night or two at my house for girls in our ward to get away for a night and have fun. The last one ended on a bit of a sour note, as sensitive topics were discussed in a manner some felt wasn't sensitive. So, I gave it a few months and changed it up a little bit by hosting a reunion. Our ward was split in October and it had been a long time since I'd seen a lot of the girls from "the other side" of Blue Diamond. So, it wasn't a "Game Night", it was a reunion and we were just going to get together and visit. We found out that Linsi was moving to Utah and thought Dynelle was too (I announced that she was and then the sale of her house fell through...um, oops!) so I planned for everyone to write them Love Notes. Then I decided that everyone could use a little love, and gave everyone the chance to write a love note to someone there or not there who they missed or were thinking of. It gave me a good excuse to use all the paraphernalia I snagged at Target's Valentine's Day sale.
We chatted and visited for a while, and then when we noticed that some ladies were falling asleep, Linsi piped up with an awesome game to play that seemed like a good one for the group we had. It was sort of like Telephone, but with pictures. So you write a word or a phrase on the front of a booklet. The next person reads that word or phrase and draws it on the next page. So all the next person has to go on is a picture and they have to guess what the word is, write it down and pass it on for the next person to draw a picture...make sense? Well, with as many girls as we had, some of the chains took some crazy turns.

It was so funny to go around the circle and reveal what had become of our drawings. And to hear everyone defending their drawing or interpretation of the drawings. Some things miraculously stayed the same the whole way around the circle, things like: wheelchair, jump rope, toe ring and pregnant. But it was so much funnier when things went awry.
At the risk of overusing the word "fun", I'll just saw that we had an awesome time with an incredible group of girls whom I miss so much since our ward split. It was lovely to have everyone together again and we're going to try to make it a more frequent occurrence. Bless Brandon's heart, he's so patient with me hosting these. The leftover treats literally sweeten the deal for him, though.
