Chubby Cheeks & Thunder Thighs...a tribute to baby fat through the years

Please allow me to preface this post with a confirmation that I am NOT having a baby. This post is simply a result of nothing newsworthy happening to the Richardses and being surrounded by screaming children at church.
With that said, I will tell you that babies have been a point of discussion for Brandon and I. Although we can't agree on baby names just yet, we are both in agreement that our children will be blonde-haired, blue-eyed and FAT. The latter is an inevitable truth determined as a result of a very scientific study, and there's really no way around it.

Exhibit A: A genetic predisposition to love cake.Exhibit B: Predisposition to love eating in general - dirt, coins, whatever they can get their hands on. This is how Brandon got the nickname "Dirtball", which his siblings weren't supposed to use, so shortened to DB. Kids can be so cruel.
Food served (and still does) as an excellent motivator for me. Pretty confident that pudding was at the other end of my first step.Exhibit C: Parents' cheeks infringing on their ability to smile. Also, parents currently suffering from Chipmunk Syndrome and being asked if they are eating something, when in fact their mouths are empty. (True story, happened not long ago.)
Exhibit D: Parental inactivity. (Today's lesson: Brandon isn't Superman. I was shocked, too!)I adopted the relaxed "Jamaica, No Problem" attitude early in life and I had the thighs to prove it. Exhibit E: Exposure to music promoting health body image played in a continuous loop. I think I was listening to "Baby Got Back" here. And boy, did I have a 'juicy double'.Exhibit F: Family history full of fat babies...
My sister Kristina: Knee socks quite the popular look in England when we were growing up. Unfortunately, our leg rolls tended to droop and make them look like ankle socks anyway. My brother Daniel: A healthy young lad whose extra chins kept him warm during those frosty Canada winters.Littlest Nicola: Often resembled the brother from A Christmas Story who couldn't put his arms down. She experienced similar difficulties.I would put up pictures of my siblings-in-law, but I'm still fairly new. Not sure how well that would go over.

Exhibit G: The next generation of chubby children has already begun in our nieces and nephews. Aren't they adorable? Here's one of the newest additions demonstrating how hard life can be as a chubby kid who hasn't the strength to support himself yet.

In conclusion, yes they will be husky, and yes, I think that's great. I've heard you tend to worry less about chubby children...so we should have no trouble sleeping at night.

Much to my dismay, I think that in my current post-tooth extraction state, I look an awful lot like a number of those chubby cheeked baby pictures...especially now that my cheeks have swollen up to the point of almost consuming my chin.

Very fun post, Michelle. You are seriously so hilarious. Poor little baby in the video - I bet he tipped over 'cause he was tired of sitting on his wet diaper. :) Just kiddin'...

Fat babies are the best! My 4 month old has just about doubled his weight since birth and he has been sleeping through the night for 2 months now! It is wonderful. I love the chub!
