Remember the days when a dime bought you a pair of shoes?

I remember it like it was yesterday. Perhaps because I scored a cute pair of shoes at Target for (drumroll please) 8 cents! I won't call myself a crazy couponer (although my cashier friend might - I run into the same poor lady every time I show up with a stack 'o' coupons) but I took advantage of a $5 off a pair of women's shoes coupon combined with a major clearance sale and paid $.08 for these beauties. No wonder Target is my happy place.

Just to confirm that there wasn't any funny business, I felt the need to document the fantastic find. It was almost too good to be true.

 

While TLC's Extreme Couponers scare me beyond reason, I can see the appeal. The nerdy penny pincher in me felt a rush of adrenaline when I looked at the receipt. However, I don't anticipate spending 40 hours a week clipping coupons and organizing them in a binder that weighs more than my daughter so I can have a basement full of mayonnaise and deodorant. I'd love to see what the Extreme Couponers actually eat. Ketchup only goes so far...but 8 cent shoes will take you places.
