For the last week, I have been totally and completely obsessed with Hairspray, specifically this song:
I would give my left arm to be able to bust some of the moves featured in this movie. (If anyone knows of any Sock Hops coming up in Vegas, let me know). What ever happened to moves like The Stricken Chicken and The Mashed Potato and good old fashioned line dancing? I watch this movie over and over (so relieved that segregation is a thing of the past) wishing I could dance like they danced and wear what they wore.
One of my proudest moments: choreographing a sassy line dance to "All I Want for Christmas is You" for my roommates and I to perform at our church Christmas party...unbeknown to us, we were scheduled between two very reverent renditions of Christmas hymns. And if you're asking yourself if I incorporated candy cane canes in the dance, the answer is a resounding YES.

Side effect of watching Hairspray over and over: an unhealthy obsession with Zac Efron as Link Larkin. Buddy is quite allright with it, and has actually confessed to liking the movie (when he neglects to write his own stuff, I can get away with putting this kind of stuff on here). I think James Marsden - he refuses to call him anything but Cyclopse - as Corny Collins is his favourite, with his cheesy grin and awesome hair.
I think my infatuation stems from me being a huge nerd in high school and always crushing on popular boys, but never in my wildest dreams had I imagined landing the high school hunk. But here's Moscow High's finest, and he's all mine. I just wish I'd been around to wear his letterman jacket.

6 pennies for your thoughts:
Hey, you have a blog! So do I. It's michaelandmeghan.blogspot.com
How are you guys doing in Vegas??
Love you! I wish the video would work...
I heart Hairspray. I even saw it on BROADWAY! Too bad Zac Efron has nothin' on your "Buddy." Realization: you have still NEVER told me why you call him buddy. You'll be on the kick list soon, honey, if I don't get an answer by Halloween!!!! :)
Fantastic video. Perhaps next time you guys are in P-town we can work on the moves in that video.
PS...I have a similar Christmas experience, only we danced to "Santa Baby" and yes I have it on video.
By the way, we have a blog too. Get it from Kelly's blog.
I totally agree with you. Lets bring back the moves and the dresses too, please!
I'd have to agree with Brandon. Ever since 27 Dresses I've become obsessed with James Marsden. However, Brandon probably likes him for different reasons than the boat scene at the end of 27 Dresses.
