We were smitten with the house as soon as we walked in. The way The Jameses had it decorated was flawless and when we saw it empty for the first time - scratches and holes in the walls, handprints and smudges and dents - it caught me off guard and I wondered what we'd done. But minutes later, it felt like home as we let go of the images of how they had the house set up and imagined what we would do with the home to make it ours. But we made sure to save some of the "Before" photos because it's fun to see the differences.
